I recently guest edited a Special Issue for the Journal of Sports Sciences titled ‘Complexity and Systems Thinking in Sport’ with Paul Salmon and Sam Robertson. The special issue aimed to bring together and showcase a growing body of complex systems research in sport science. The Editorial we wrote provides an introduction on the topic and why it is critical we start to use this systems thinking lens to tackle some of sports most persistent problems.
