LPC is working with the Premier League on Project Nexus which aims to modal how hamstring injuries in the Professional Development Pathway (PDP) emerge from across the broader football environment. Rather than treating injury as a simple, linear outcome, it brings together a multi-disciplinary perspective involving coaching, medical, performance, psychological, governance, and environmental perspectives to reveal the interacting variables that influence hamstring injury.
“To address this issue effectively, we must move beyond reductionist linear cause and effect thinking and recognise that hamstring injuries emerge from the interactions between people, processes, governance, organisational and environmental factors.
Only through broad, multidisciplinary collaboration and systems-level approaches can we truly understand how each component influences the whole”
Mike Brownlow, Senior Player Health Manager at the Premier League
The goal is practical: a shared, systems-level picture that supports smarter collaboration and reduces avoidable time-loss for players and clubs across the season.
